Guang is dedicated to composing and sharing new music in a broader way to society. At the age of fifteen, Guang and her friends organized a benefit concert to raise relief funds for the aftermath of the devastating Sichuan earthquake of 2008, which included 20 performers, for a concert that attracted over 200 attendees and raised $1000 for the American Red Cross. At the age of 18, Guang became the first student in her school’s history to hold an hour-long concert of original compositions at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music High School that attracted over 300 audience members.
Guang teaches piano, music theory, and composition and is currently interested in collaborating with different artists in other disciplines, while also working on her opera “The Night Flight of Minerva’s Owl”. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston and her master’s degree at University of Southern California – Thornton School of Music. She will begin a doctorate program there in the near future. She currently has open availability and is open to teaching students of all ages and backgrounds in the greater Los Angeles area.
